The Skylark

We came here as a family as the place was recommended for a decent Scottish fish and chips. As I&#39;m not a fan of fish, I opted for a deep fried pizza....only rhe Scottish could get away with that! This was a huge thing for me as I&#39;m from the south of England! So it would have felt wrong to not have tried it! I&#39;m so glad I did as it was amazing!!! I definitely recommend it! And the chips were proper chips, not these skinny things you get from McDonald&#39;s! If you visit Edinburgh I definitely recommend this place!!! Happy eating!!!

Been here many times, but today I was not happy. Took my grand children for lunch. They had a good time in the soft play and were happy. sadly their food was not up to scratch. The burger and chip experience as my grandson said was gusting, he is only 5. He spat the chips out. As to the burger, I took it out of the roll and I could knock it on the plate it was hard and well charred. Such a shame as this is child a friendly place. I told the waitress about the burger and even tapped it on the plate to show her how hard the burger was. she was polite and said sorry, but no further action was made. I complained about the chips, and was told they were fresh made. doubt it. The waitress went red in the face as she claimed, everything was fresh made, as it was described on the menu. (very young and not experienced enough yet, also very defensive.) I paid the bill and left, but I will most certainly not be back. I was upset for my grand children. I had the breakfast and it was ok, nothing special, but ok. I have high standards and cook everything from fresh so perhaps this jaundiced my view. I then had to go and get my grandson something to eat elsewhere. I will follow this up with a letter of complaint.

Just popped into Favers for breakfast . Can&#39;t be beaten for value . Lovely fresh tasty well cooked food. Loads of tea and toast with your own Wee pot of butter ! Did I mention. The staff are just the best . You feel very special every time you visit . June and staff you are just great ! Scones to die for as well . Fresh baked every day.

A fantastic pub run by a local family. Great pub grub and stunning views across the Forth Estuary. Friendly atmosphere and in winter a log fire to warm you. Sundays are great days for music with an open house for joining in. Lots of local musicians play. Makes for a great atmosphere.
